The focal principle

A parabolic surface reflects incoming parallel rays towards a focus. In a dish, that focus is a point. In a trough, it becomes a line. A receiver located there absorbs the concentrated energy and transfers it to a vessel or working fluid.

Reflector quality, structural accuracy and alignment directly influence performance. A clean, high-reflectance surface and regular tracking help keep the receiver inside the concentrated solar region.
